Jack Black (born Thomas Jacob Black on August 28, 1969 in Santa Monica, California) is an American actor, comedian and singer. Jack’s parents split when he was 10, and he moved to Culver City to live with his father. At 13, Jack appeared in a television commercial for the video game Pitfall!. Jack attended UCLA and became a part of Tim Robbins’ Actors Gang. Jack had a small role in 1992’s Bob Roberts, and his early work includes appearances in Demolition Man, The Never Ending Story III and in televisions series Life Goes On, Northern Exposure and The X-Files. In 1994, Jack teamed up with friend Kyle Gass to form Tenacious D, a comedy rock duo. They would release multiple albums, and star in the movie Tenacious D in the Pick Of Destiny. Jack’s comedic side was on display for movies The Cable Guy and Mars Attacks!, but his breakthrough came when he starred in 2000’s High Fidelity. He followed up that critical success with roles in Shallow Hal, Orange County, School of Rock and the 2005 remake of King Kong. Jack has also lent his voice to multiple animated projects, most notably the Kung Fu Panda series of films. Jack starred opposite Tim Robbins in the 2015 HBO dark-comedy, The Brink and was cast as R.L. Stine in the 2015 film, Goosebumps.

Personal Life:  
Jack began dating accomplished cellist, Tanya Haden, in 2005. The two of them went to the same high school together, and met 15 years after they graduated. They were married on March 2006. They welcomed their first son, Samuel Jason, in June 2006. In 2008, their second son, Thomas David, was born.
