The Voice: John Legend swoops in to steal Mac Royals after 'gorgeous' Bee Gees song duet during Batt
John Legend used his steal to pick up Mac Royals for his team after being blown away by his Battles stage performance on Tuesday's episode of The Voice on NBC.
'Mac, I just love the sound of your voice,' John, 44, said. 'It's just so gorgeous. It's soulful, and it's got richness and character, and it's just the kind of voice I love to hear. There were some pitch moments, in that early part, but once you revved up it was buttery gorgeousness. So good.'
Mac, 31, from Wrightsville, Arkansas, was stolen by John after new coach Reba McEntire, 68, named her singer Rachele Nguyen, 17, of Cypress, California, as the winner of their Battles stage duet to How Deep Is Your Love by the Bee Gees.
'Come on home,' John said while getting up to hug Mac.
'I want to hear a Mac record,' John said. 'Maybe he should have always been on Team Legend.'

During rehearsals, Rachele put her all into practicing and texted Mac whenever she had suggestions. Rachele and Mac were both stunned that they had Reba as their coach.
'I've been trying my best not to lose my mind,' Mac said to Reba. 'This is crazy.'
'Y'all did such a great job on the blind auditions or you wouldn't be here today,' Reba reminded them.
Reba told them to stick with the melody of the song because people like to sing along. Reba encouraged Rachele to sing with her eyes open.
Mac said earlier that working as as a professional street busker shaped his artistry to be able to focus while surrounded by distractions.
Niall Horan, 30, told them after their performance that they were both fantastic, but that he would go for Rachele. Gwen Stefani, 54, couldn't decide between them.
Reba ultimately picked Rachele as the winner of the battle round.
Team Niall contestants Nini Iris, 27, from Brooklyn, New York, battled against Sophia Hoffman, 18, from Chula Vista, California, with both singing Heart Of Glass by Blondie.

'I thought you looked like you were having fun,' Reba said.
Niall ultimately picked Nini as the winner to move on to the Knockouts stage.
'Nini's got something special,' Niall said. 'There's a gap in the world for music for someone like Nini and all she has to do is run in a straight line to it.'
Calla Prejean, 22, from Houston, battled against Chechi Sarai, 32, from Pontiac, Michigan, to the Lady Gaga song I Will Never Love Again to stay on Gwen's team.
'I'm so happy I'm here,' Chechi said. 'It means everything.'
'This song is going to require someone to be really vulnerable,' Gwen said in rehearsals. 'It's not only about the singing. It's really about the delivery and the way that they are going to build the song.'

Calla said the song reminded her of moving to Nashville and pursuing music on her own. She credited her mother who would never let her quit when she was growing up.
Calla and Chechi hugged when their performance ended.
'Chechi you are exceptionally gifted,' John said. 'Your range is ridiculous. The beginning, it sounded so rich and full, and the fact that you can do that and still hit those super-high notes in the stratosphere is pretty amazing.'
Niall noted that it was a really tough song.
'You come on The Voice you better bring it,' Gwen said.
'Another super performance for both of you,' Niall said.
'Calla it was emotional, it was perfect,' Gwen said.
'Chechi you are so amazing,' Gwen said. ' It was so good. But I could still see this little bit of insecure version of you that doesn't belong on that stage or in you. Like you are not that girl. So, I'm going to just have to, I don't know, spank you like ''no''.'
Niall broke down laughing.
'I love you,' Niall said.
Gwen picked Chechi as the winner.
Team Legend's Caleb Sasser , 27, from Pembroke, North Carolina, went up against Talakai, 34, from Sacramento, California, singing Sam Smith's Too Good At Goodbyes. John picked Caleb as the winner saying he had a mysterious tone.
